Xcel’s 2010 Colorado Profits–Up 23% Over 2009–Follows Three Rate Increases

In 2010, Xcel’s net income in Colorado was over $399 million,  up 23% from Xcel’s  $323 million in net income in 2009.  This increase in net income can be seen on page 33 of  the Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCO’s) Annual Report found here PSCo Annual Report 10-K 2010

This increase followed three rate increases in four years as follows:

(1) Percentage increases are for residentialbills as found in the Customer Impact Study that typically accompanies the Settlement Agreements in the rate increase dockets.

(2) Total increase is a compounded increase calculated by taking 1.0773 x 1.0523 x 1.068 = 1.2107 for a 21% compounded increase.
